Meet Calvin from Blaine.
I grew up going to church and was baptized at age 10 after I asked God into my heart. When I turned 16, I got a job that required working on weekends. I used this as an excuse to stop going to church. In reality, I didn’t feel welcome there and had no desire to go.
Three years ago, my friend Pete invited me to Eagle Brook. He was involved at EBC through Quest 180o, and I’d seen changes in him.
He was persistent in inviting me, so I finally took him up on his offer. Shortly after my first visit, I recommitted my life to Christ.
When the Blaine campus opened, my wife, Amanda went with me. Growing up, she only went to church on holidays. After hearing Jason Strand teach a message on pride, she committed her life to Christ. We both were baptized in February 2012.
Our son, Beau was born on Oct. 24, 2011—we plan on raising him to know Christ through attending EBC. I’m happy to say that my parents now attend Eagle Brook, as well as Amanda’s father. Eagle Brook has impacted the lives of my entire family in a big way.
