Meet Daniel from SLP.
I grew up in Easley, SC. As a child, I went to church with my grandmother, whom I lived with most of the time. My mom didn’t want the responsibility of raising me and my dad was not often in the picture, choosing to use drugs instead of helping raise me. I was saved at the age of 16 and from that point on, knew I belonged to God.
Though I had this life-altering encounter with God, I never realized how loving and forgiving he is. For a long time, I carried resentment toward my parents because of my upbringing. I allowed it to rule my thoughts and emotions and it made life a negative experience.
Unfortunately, I turned to drugs to ease the pain, and struggled with addiction for 20 years.
I began attending Eagle Brook in 2007 after trying out a Quest 180o meeting. My life is now permanently impacted because of Eagle Brook’s influence in reconnecting me with God. I have a loving fiancée; I’m going back to school; and I have a great job. I was baptized in February 2012, because I wanted to proclaim my faith and share what God has done for me.
